NEBO has long recognized the need for effective professional continuing education. Continuing education is a standard in the health care profession, serving to maintain and improve the health care system and the delivery of services. NEBO certified individuals must seek continuing education in order to maintain performance at the basic level of professional competence as well as advance training and specialized skills beyond the basic level. Maintaining NEBO certification ensures that the ocularist is current with the standards and innovations in the field of ocularistry. NEBO is a comprehensive certifying organization whose mission is to establish and advocate for the highest patient care and organizational standards in the provision of safe and effective ocular prosthetics.
As a Board Certified Ocularists you are recognized by many insurance providers including CMS, Medicare, the Canadian Healthcare system, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
